Get To Know Joe Graves

A native Floridian and Navy veteran, Joe moved to Vero Beach over twenty-two years ago. In the time since he relocated, Joe has developed a strong love for this city – founding his law firm here, raising  a family, and becoming rooted in supporting several of the charitable organizations that enrich the area. 

Joseph Graves understands the unique challenges that face our community. Vero Beach needs representatives who truly wants what is best for our community, that is why Joe is running for Vero Beach City Council.

In contemplating his candidacy, Joe says, “When people ask why I am running for Vero Beach City Council, I tell them it’s for the future. Making Vero’s future a future that we will all be proud of, a future that will benefit all citizens and a future that I am honored to stand behind.” 

  • Longtime resident of Vero Beach.
  • Volunteered countless hours to the Indian River Soccer Association and the Indian River Recreation Department as a youth football coach
  • Graduated top of class at Stetson Law, and practicing trial attorney with 27 years of successful litigation experience; founding partner of Graves Thomas Vero Beach law firm
  • Devoted husband to wife Carole George Graves and father to their four daughters, Emily Ann, Sara Catherine, Rachel Maria and Sophia Maria. On December 4th 2016, Joe Graves’ only son, James (“Jimmy”) Franklin Graves, II, died in a tragic boating accident. Soon after his passing, Joseph Graves founded the Jimmy Graves Foundation.
